C-Bus CNI is a local system, and as such, requires local port forwarding and a static external IP address or Dynamic DNS service. The default port for C-Bus CNI (Toolkit) communications is 10001 TCP.

Communications made to a C-Bus CNI is unencrypted.

It is worth noting that if using a C-Bus CNI control system for voice control while connected to the C-Bus network on the same CNI, Toolkit will likely drop the connection.

If the customer has a Wiser 2 or a NAC/SHAC unit installed, we suggest using the that control system rather than the C-Bus CNI control system, as they support auto-loading and encryption.
